Where the Sea Feels Like Home In summer 2024, I spent time in Cancún, where my grandmother lives. It’s one of those places that feels both familiar and unreal family on one side, and some of the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever seen on the other.
Most days started slow, with fresh fruit in the morning — papaya, mango, pineapple, all sweeter than anywhere else. My grandmother always had something ready, and her home felt like comfort in every detail.
We spent our days by the sea, swimming in clear blue water, walking along white sand. No rush, just the sound of waves and sun on our skin.
Sometimes we went to the market or sat around the table eating together, telling stories, and laughing. Simple moments, but they stay with you.
Cancún is more than a vacation spot when you have family there — it’s a mix of home and paradise. And honestly, I really miss it.
